The sun, with all those planets revolving around it and dependent on it,can still ripen a bunch of grapes as if it had nothing else in the universe to do. ~ Galileo Galilei
Last week I was fortunate enough to enjoy and share this sunset. I shared it not only with my constant (canine) companions, but also the three persons I spotted in the distance at the far end of a glorious two mile sandy beach – the length of which we had walked uninterrupted by any other beings, human or otherwise. The others hurried off before the sun had set, but we resisted the temptation to rush on back to the car and instead strolled along waiting for the sun to complete its evening task. We were rewarded with rich pink clouds on the horizon & over the headland nearby, and the beautiful mellowing of the evening sky.
It is so rare for me to enjoy sunsets these days and yet doing so is an instant reminder of the everyday miracles of this life and the world around us. When was the last time you enjoyed a sunset? Where in the world would be your favourite place to do so? What stands in your way of making that sunset watching trip?
